Be Inspired… Winter Wedding Tablescapes

Winter, the time of year when we have beautiful misty mornings and spend the evenings cosied up by log fires.

We’re not sure about you but we think winter is a romantic time of year to get married and today we have pulled together some wedding tablescapes just perfect for winter to inspire you.

Of course this post is best enjoyed with a warm mug of hot chocolate.

The Daily Collective: Wedding Wreaths

21 May

{ Wedding Wreaths }

Designing your ceremony and venue space is a challenging job and sometimes there is a wall or door standing in the way of your vision! That is where wreaths make their entrance and rescue the day with their whimsy.

Wreaths can be created from almost anything – ribbon, tulle, tissue paper, bunches of blooms or get creative with paper cups! Whatever you choose they can help transform you space and make for an interesting and personalised piece if you use your initials as the wreaths.

Our personal favourite is the mini wreaths hanging from the back of the bride and grooms chairs – gorgeous!

The Daily Collective: Something Blue

Something Blue: Nails

On your wedding day you need something new, old, borrowed and blue. One of our fave blogs Oscar PR Girl uploaded the above image of a model in Oscar de la Renta Bridal showing to-die-for nails painted in a pale shade of blue.

We are totally in love with this look and think nails painted in shades from midnight  to pale blue would be a gorgeous addition to your wedding day look.

Of course you don’t have to stop at blue you could make a statement in any shade of polish. We personally love the OPI selection at Melli Cosmetics in Terrigal but her Minx Nails are what have us head over heels!

The Daily Collective: Cheese Table

3 Mar

The Cheese Table

We both have a sweet tooth and think more is more when it comes to dessert, but, not everyone is mad for dessert like us so we thought we should show you the cheese table.

When planning your cheese table do the same as you would when planning a dessert table, choose one or two cheeses you and your sweetheart enjoy then choose a selected range of cheeses that will be crowd pleasers.

Cheese loves company so serve it alongside different types of crackers and breads, muscatels, dried figs and apricots, slices of fresh pear and apple and offer condiments like quince paste, honey and a spiced chutney.

Also, remember that not everyone enjoys cheese so consider serving petite fours at the end of the evening with tea and coffee.

The Daily Collective: Ombre`

The Ombre` Effect

The ombrè effect is taking the wedding world by storm at the moment. Everything from gowns to invitations and flowers are getting the ombrè treatment.

For those of you who are new to the ombrè effect it is essentially taking a colour in its darkest shade and graduating down to the palest shade or even until it fades to white.

We heart this trend in a big way because you can either use this effect throughout selected areas of your wedding or just take one piece like your gown or wedding cake and make a dramatic statement with colour.

The Daily Collective: Crushing on Polka Dots

Modern Polka Dot Inspiration

Polka dots are not just for colourful fanfares, polka dots can be sophisticated and modern as shown in this black and white inspiration board.

We wanted to show you how such a simple pattern can be effective in a modern black and white theme. Black and white is such a simple colour palette but makes a bold statement.

From your gown right through to your venue decor you can create a contemporary feel with polka dots.

The Daily Collective: Burlap

25 Feb

Rustic Chic: Burlap

Print, fold, drape, wrap or ties bows – burlap is a versatile material and easy to incorporate into your wedding day.

While the mood board above inspires a rustic chic country look we think burlap would be just as at home in a modern setting and bring a different texture element to a city/industrial theme.

Burlap is an inexpensive material readily available and just needs some creative hands to make it work for you day!
